This instrument makes esophageal tube placement simple and quick. The device is inserted into the oral cavity and started down the esophagus. An incision is made mid-cervical over the instrument. The esophagostomy tube is inserted into the instrument and it passes safely and precisely down the esophagus like a 'shoehorn principle.'
