The veterinary use Oasis Polypropylene suture with needle is a monofilament non-absorbable suture that is comparable to Ethicon™ Prolene®. This monofilament suture consists of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin that provides permanent wound support.The Oasis Polypropylene suture is blue colored for easy identifiaction during surgery and they have excellent tensile strength. Polypropylene sutures are often used for orthopaedic, plastic, micro, general closure, and cardiovasular surgeries.
