This Terumo NN2025R Needle comes with a 20GX 1" Thin Wall needle. Thin wall needles are thinner than regular wall needles. The outside diameter is the same size. However, the inside diameter is bigger than the regular wall's inside diameter. Thin wall needles provide more comfort with an increased flow rate.

Best needle for Subcutaneous fluids for my cat
This needle size/brand is my cats preferred needle. She gets SQ fluid administration because she has chronic kidney disease. These are very sharp, and thin walled. The thin wall means the fluid infuses faster, without the overall diameter being larger (and more painful). This is the perfect size for comfort and fast infusion. My vet's office originally gave me 18g needles, and those are harpoons! They said the fluid infuses faster with a bigger gauge, and gave me a bit of push-back when I said I wanted smaller ones. So I did my own research and found these were recommended for fluids for cats. So glad I found these. PLEASE don't let your vet give you 18g. That really is just cruel and unusual punishment for your poor cat.

Best Needles!
These needles are as sharp as needles should be, unlike many other needles i have tried!
I use them every day for my cat who needs fluids subcutaneously for kidney disease. No problem! Cat doesn't even care! being 20G x1 is large and due to the needles being of such superb quality, they go right in without creating pain or stress for the cat.
Also shopmedvet.com is completely reliable to deal with.

GREAT WITH SUBCUTANEOUS FLUIDS FOR CATS
In rescue, I prefer this needle for giving subcutaneous fluids to cats. Depending on where the cat is pierced--the 18 gauge can hurt more; however, with anything smaller than this, the fluid takes too long to administer and the cat gets impatient. I'd heard Terumo has sharper and thinner (wall) needles and believe that is correct. I also use these for shots with some cats, but also use 22 gauge for shots -- depending on the cat.

Fast flowing, less meows
These needles flow just as fast as regular needles, but they're thinner so my cat doesn't notice them as much when we put them in for sub-q fluid administration. Ordering my second box now.
